“A well-led group keeps bringing us back to ourselves.” Jen Louden said this in a webinar about creating online communities and it struck a chord with me when I thought about what I wanted to create with this community.
My desire in creating Brave Leaps is to launch a community of seekers and finders, of dreamers and darers, of like-minded and open-minded people who care enough to make their lives, and our world, a better place.
The guiding principles of this community, as I see it today, are:
- The wisdom is in the community. None of us are here as experts, although some of us may have more experience in one area or another. What makes us powerful is our coming together to share ideas, inspiration, encouragement, and connection.
- Connection is what drives us. This community exists to inspire, support, and inform. When we become brave enough to create the life we want, we begin to want more for everyone else, and for our world at large. Feeling alone is an illusion – we are all connected.
- Our values are our anchor. My values are certainly not the only ones that matter here, but they are my anchor and guidepost for all that I do here. Love, joy, integrity, abundance, presence, and kindness should be visible in all that happens here. I hope you’ll share your values too, so that we can build a collective set of core values for this community.
- A better world comes from taking brave leaps. When we realize it is possible to change our own lives, we expand our capacity for joy, fulfillment, and connection. We want more, not only for ourselves, but for others. When we stop settling for less, we begin to believe in the possibility of more in all aspects of our lives, and our planet.
I hope you will find the stories of other’s leaps inspiring and motivating. I hope that this community becomes a place where you draw strength, find ideas, and feel a part of something bigger. I hope that you will participate and share your wishes, ideas, fears, and leaps. The life you want to lead is already within you. Share it with us here so that you can let it out into the world.
